Find Help, Find Hope!

Family Support Group

NAMI Family Support Group is a free, peer-led recovery support group open to all family members, loved ones, and caregivers of someone living with a mental illness (regardless of diagnosis).  It offers a casual and relaxed approach to sharing the challenges and successes of having a loved one who lives with mental illness.  All groups:

  • Meet once a month for 90 minutes
  • Are offered free of charge
  • Do not require registration
  • Can be joined at any time
  • Follow a flexible structure without an educational format
  • Do not recommend or endorse any medications or other medical therapies

These groups provide a place that offers respect, understanding, encouragement, and hope.  All groups are confidential – participants can share as much or as little personal information as they wish.

Two Orange County meeting locations are available: Please feel welcome to drop by any or all meetings and share feelings, difficulties, or successes.

One meets the first Wednesday of each month from noon – 1:30 pm at the Christ United Methodist Church Office Building at 105 Market Street in Southern Village;

The other meets the second Tuesday of each month from 7:00 – 8:30 pm at The Seymour Senior Center at 2551 Homestead Rd. in Chapel Hill.
